The do’s and don’ts of Banner Advertising

Banner Advertising, Online Banner AdsWhen creating online banner ads, there are many factors to consider and a few do’s and don’ts that come along with these considerations. Here are a few do’s and don’ts to banner advertising. Follow these and you will definitely see a huge deal of success.
  1. Firstly, using extremely bright colors will only distract your potential customers and they will not look at your offer.
  2. If something is constantly flashing, like a Flash ad or .gif one, then people are more likely going to scroll to a part of the screen where they can avoid looking at such an ad.
  3. If you want to make a word really stand out, then use a red color with a black or white border and a white or light blue background. This is preferred to using big red letters on a white background.
  4. Never cram too many images into your banner. If you want to get the point across that your product is indeed valuable, then it takes just one extremely relevant picture to do the job.
  5. Make sure your ad copy is clear and concise. Never put in too much information and try not to use overtly descriptive words. Too much information isn’t necessary as the landing page will have all the information.
  6. Think carefully about the symbols you want to use. What these symbols would mean to the average person and whether they relate to your products.
